Copacabana Night Club in New York City

There are two dance rooms at the huge Copacabana Night Club in New York, which holds 4,000 people.  There is a small one downstairs (the Copa Room) with hip-hop, and the large Carmen Miranda Room upstairs for salsa dancing (Latin dancing).  You'll see both tourists and pro dancers with real live bands, doing salsa and merengue.  It's a wild place, and makes  you think you're in Havana.

One of the most elegant places to dance in the city, the Copacabana Night Club in New York has a dress code which is basically  is flashy business casual (elegant is the key word here... no jeans, no boots or sneakers, collared shirts advised for men). Women go all out here, with heels and low-cut dresses.  Women must be 21, men must be 25.   On Tuesday it opens at 6 and from 6 to 8 there is a free buffet. In the weekends it opens at 10.  Great Latin dancing!
